the organ

The first organ was documented in 1506. During the Succession War, in 1714, a fire burned the organ, which was going to be rebuilt years after by the organ maker masters Anton and Josep Boscà. The current organ (made in 1922) was bought in 1957 at Montserrat monastery to substitute the one that was burned the April 29th of 1937 (during the Civil War).

In 1988 the organ maker Blancafort restored it and its registers were increased. The organist, who used to be a beneficiary, accompanies the religious chants and livens up the liturgical functions. The first organist was Rev. Miquel Aymerich del Bosch in 1562.
