the altarpieces

In the Trinitat chapel there is an altarpiece by Antoni Marquès made between 1506 and 1507. The image of the Trinity appears on the central compartment (with a little image representing the canon Bernat Massadella) while above there is the Mare de Déu de l’Esperança (the Hope Madonna) accompanied by Gabriel the archangel and Saint Agnes. Right through these appear some scenes of the Old Testament (the Creation of Eve, Abraham encounter with the three angels and Mose and the burning bush) and the Baptism of Jesus. At the predella four areas represent the saints Andrew, Fructus, Augustin and Maurice. The central compartment corresponds to an image of the Mercy Christ, which its original is kept at the Vic Epicospal Museum.
